I decided to try and milk my own cashew nut milk. Cashews are a rich source of essential fatty acids which may help in reducing your cholesterol. They are a great source of protein, high in iron, vit E, lots of minerals. I wanted to see if this would be cheaper than buying cashew milk, but it was not. HOWEVER.. I always like to make food from scratch because you control the ingredients and how it's sweetened. In this case, I used pure maple syrup and cinnamon.
It took me a bit to figure out how to filter this milk, but once I did it was delicious. It's rich tasting and I feel like it's almost dessert quality.
I am very happy with the Elan cashews, the price was right and they were actually cheaper than making almond milk.
