Privacy policy
Effective November 1, 2026
The short version. We collect what we need to make your affiliate links, count clicks on them and, if you choose, recommend products for your audience. We don't sell your personal information. When you connect Instagram, YouTube or TikTok, we only read data; we never post, comment or message for you. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
1. Who we are
Peopletail (peopletail.com) is operated by Miramedia Retail Inc. ("Peopletail", "we", "us"), a company based in Pickering, Ontario, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at privacy@peopletail.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Amazon Associates IDs you save for each Amazon store, and which store is your main one.
- Product links you paste to turn into Peopletail links.
- Applications and messages, such as early-access sign-up forms: your name, email address, plan of interest, AI app and anything you choose to tell us.
Information created when you use Peopletail
- A device identifier our server issues to your browser, with a secret code stored in your browser, so your settings and links are linked to you.
- Your Peopletail links: the product, the Amazon store and the Associates IDs each link uses.
- Click records when someone opens a Peopletail link: the time, the visitor's country (worked out from their internet address by our hosting provider; we don't store the address itself), the referring page if the browser provides it, a shortened browser description and the Amazon store they were sent to. We use these to show click counts and to route visitors to their local store.
- Your public page, if you create one: your page name, display name, bio and the picks you add (titles, notes and links) are public at peopletail.com/u/your-page-name, because that is the point of the page. You can edit or remove them anytime.
- Browser storage: your IDs, link list, quest progress and sound setting are also saved in your own browser so the site loads quickly.
Connected accounts (optional, future feature)
If you choose to connect a social account, we ask for read-only access and use it only to understand your audience and recommend products:
- Instagram (Business or Creator accounts): your profile information (such as username and follower count), your posts and their metrics (such as likes, comments, saves, shares and reach), account insights, and aggregated audience demographics (age ranges, gender, top cities and countries, and when your followers are active). We cannot see who your individual followers are.
- YouTube: your channel information, your videos and their statistics, and aggregated audience reports from YouTube Analytics (such as age ranges, gender and countries).
- TikTok: your basic profile information, follower count, and your videos and their statistics.
Product information
We may retrieve public product details such as titles, images and prices from Amazon to display your links. This is not personal information.
3. How we use information
- To make your affiliate links, send each visitor to the right Amazon store and show you your clicks.
- To review applications, provide support and send you service messages.
- To process subscriptions and keep billing records.
- To keep Peopletail secure and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To improve Peopletail using aggregated, de-identified information, such as which product categories are popular.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your connected-account data for advertising.
4. How information is shared
- Service providers that run Peopletail for us: Netlify (hosting, storage and forms) and Stripe (payments, if paid features are offered in future). They may only use the information to provide their services to us.
- Amazon: when a visitor opens a Peopletail link, they are sent to Amazon with your Associates ID so Amazon can credit you. Amazon's own privacy notice applies on Amazon.
- Legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or Peopletail.
- Business transfers: if Peopletail is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner, who must respect this policy.
5. Google and YouTube data
Peopletail's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Peopletail uses YouTube API Services. By connecting your YouTube account, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke Peopletail's access at any time from your Google security settings.
6. How long we keep information
- Links, click records and saved IDs: while you use Peopletail, and deleted within 30 days after you ask us to delete them.
- Connected-account data: refreshed while connected, and deleted within 30 days after you disconnect the account or ask us to delete it.
- Applications and support messages: up to 24 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Billing records: as long as tax and accounting laws require.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw your consent, by emailing privacy@peopletail.com. You can disconnect a social account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as Canada's PIPEDA, the GDPR or US state privacy laws; we will honour them as required. 8. Security
We protect information with encrypted connections, access limits and by storing keys only in hashed form. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your private Peopletail link (used to move your account to another device) to yourself.
9. Where information is stored
Our service providers may store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to local authorities under local law.
10. Children
Peopletail is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. Changes
We'll post any changes here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you on the site or by email.
