Fibre is one of the few mentions when it comes to gut health.

Why is fibre important?

Beside helping us stay regular with our bowel movement, sufficient Fibre may help support healthy blood sugar, curb appetite and other health benefits.

There are two types of fibre we consume, Soluble ( dissolves in water ) and Insoluble (doesn’t dissolve in water ) You can get both forms for these fibre from foods, like grains, vegetables or fruits.

But some people find it challenging to eat enough fibre to support a smooth moving digestion, others find certain fibrous food source irritating to their gut.

Feeling gassy with added fibre in your diet?

Could be from foods high in FODMAPs.

What is FODMAP?

FODMAP is an acronym for specific types of carbohydrates that can be hard to digest for people with IBS, and may be the culprit for digestion discomfort like bloating and gas.

These are the mouth full list of the carbohydrates

  • Fermentable
  • Oligosaccharides
  • Disaccharides
  • Monosaccharides
  • Polyols

North Coast Naturals Ultimate Daily Cleanse is low in FODMAP while offering you both soluble and insoluble fibre from 6 food Sources, totalling 14 g of Fibre (8 g Soluble, 6 g Insoluble) in each serving

This 3-in-1 fibre formula gives your half of your daily requirement, 6 g of essential fats, Omega-3 & 6 Fats, and more gut health boosting probiotics, from Non-GMO Vegan friendly, whole-food sources for gentle daily fibre health & cleansing.

Why is probiotics important?

Probiotics are the bacteria that live in our gut microbiome, I like that this fibre supplement has them included to support a thrive colony in our digestion.

Their suggestion is to mix and take this in a liquid, because I find this blend a bit more gritty, I added it into a chia pudding recipe. You can also add it into smoothies, yogurt, sprinkle it on a salad or soups, off the boil.

I have added my recipe in Carb Manager for easy macro tracking and nutrition look up.
