Growing up I never understood why my grandma wasn’t allowed to have sugar. I later discovered that she was a diabetic. Individuals who have diabetes either don't make enough insulin or can't effectively use the insulin it does make. This means that people with diabetes require a very soluble fibre to hinder the intake of sugar and improve blood sugar levels. The reason that insoluble fibre isn’t effective is because it can’t completely break down. It is very important for all of us to include a highly soluble fibre in our diets to lower our chances of developing type 2 diabetes. Soluble fibre also plays a huge role in helping to lower your cholesterol, when fibre attaches to our cholesterol it helps expel it from our digestive tract!
Healthology’s SOLUBLE FIBRE BLEND provides 5 grams of soluble fibre from a Certified Organic, non-GMO blend of Baobab and Acacia fibres. It is also free of artificial sweeteners, colours, sugars, or additives, and is less likely to cause constipation than psyllium-containing fibre supplements. I was never big on consuming fibre supplements because of the taste or texture. I didn’t find that Healthology’s SOLUBLE FIBRE BLEND wasn't gritty but it did settle at the bottom of my glass. I would recommend adding it to a smoothie or juice if you don’t want to deal with any taste. It is a bit bitter if you just drink it in water. This is a great fibre blend and I would recommend giving your gut some love with this highly soluble fibre blend.

½ cup of vanilla greek yogurt
½ cup of vanilla rice milk⅓ cup of sunbutter (or any nut butter you prefer)
