Do you use "clean" hand soap? If not, you should be!
February 20, 2020 Report
Every single day we make a choice of what we wash our hands with. You can walk into any drug store or grocery store anywhere and find some kind of soap to wash up with. The choices are endless!
I'm s label reader. You know why? Because I care about what I put on my body. Call me " selfish", " fanatical" or whatever you want to but in the end it comes down to knowing what's good for you and self care should be just that. You should care about what you are putting onto your body just as much as you care what you are putting onto it.
We wash our hands an average of at least 10 times a day or more. Since our skin is our largest organ in our body, what ever goes onto our body whether it is soaps, lotions, body washes, shampoos, perfumes, dishsoaps, laundry detergents, cleaning supplies , painting supplies, etc matters.
If you are not using natural clean soaps that are free from things like parabens, phthalates sodium lauryl sulfate, artificial colors, and synthetic fragrances, chances are you are disrupting your endocrine system balance and you may also be putting yourself at risk for cancer too.
There are numerous chemicals in everything today so it's worth taking time to become a label reader and look up some of those chemicals to find out if they are really safe or not.
I've done my homework on Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Soap and was quite pleased to find it to be one of the "safe" products that I am comfortable using in my home. It's plant based. I like how this hand soap pumps just the right amount easily with one or two gentle pumps. Once you start washing your hands with it, you are immediately taken back to your childhood days of candy canes and peppermints. Such a beautiful scent. Scent is so powerful for jogging your memories. I really like this one.
I made bread yesterday and greased my loaf pans by hand and used this soap to wash with and was so happy to find it removed the greasiness from my hands immediately without any residue. They felt clean and soft and the soap didn't leave a scent on them either. It rinsed off very nicely too. I'm now keeping it handy by my kitchen sink for quick hand washes. Love it!
I will definitely be buying this soap again and it's nice knowing they use plant based products like coconut, olive oil and aloe vera and has glycerin in it too. I also like that the bottles use 25% post consumer plastic too.
I was a bit concerned when I saw the name Tetrasodium EDTA but when I researched it I found that this is used to prevent mold and bacteria from forming in the soap and is not considered carcinogenic.
If you are looking for a "clean" hand washing soap, I would give Mrs. Meyer's hand soaps a try. They also have dish soaps and other cleaners available too.
