World's First Medicinal Vinegar from Honey!
October 21, 2019 Report
Honey Vinegar was known as Oxymel and recommended by the father of medicine, Hippocrates, for curing people's ailments! It is also very tasty and you can make a quick and easy vinaigrette that is also beneficial for your health - love that! In the video, In the video above, I missed a couple of minor ingredients, so please follow the recipe below:
1/4 c. honey vinegar, 1/4 - 1/2 c. extra-virgin olive oil (I like to use the lesser amount), 1 clove of garlic (finely chopped or put through garlic press), 1/2 tsp. dijon mustard, 1/2 tsp. sea salt or 1 tsp. tamari soy sauce, freshly ground pepper + *optional: 1 tsp. raw honey if you like added sweetness!
Combine all ingredients in a small, 1 cup mason jar, shake well and serve over salads with raw or cooked vegetables.
I like to use this as dressing on a plant-protein packed BEAN SALAD!
You can use garbanzo beans, kidney beans, black beans or a combination of those or any other bean you like. I like to soak my beans and then cook them myself in a pressure cooker as that ensures less phytates and lectins. However, there are some great, organic commercially canned beans such as Eden brand that you can just drain, rinse and use. Add some chopped celery, sweet onion, a little steamed corn, some bell pepper & grated carrot, stir and enjoy.
This salad dressing keeps well in the fridge for up to a week. Great for packed lunches!
