Therés Ameeis a Canadian born producer, actress, fitcurve model, emcee/host, andbody image activist. Therés is involved heavily in the film and fashion industries, both behind the scenes and at the forefront. Therés has hosted, modeled, and coordinatednumerous fashion events including VFW (Vancouver Fashion Week), LA FashionWeek,and Toronto Fashion Week. Therés is also a speaker and partner with the non profit organizations, ‘I AM Project You,’‘Beauyoutiful_org’ and ‘The Sparkle Project,’where she teaches the importance of self confidence and body image amongst our youth in today’s overwhelming world of ‘perfect beauty.’ Therés also speaks on the importance of embracing your unique, and being balanced throughout working in multiple mediums. Within the film world, she has produced, acted, and directed in a plethora of plays, web series, short films, and features. Her recent works have taken her throughout the film festival circuit, including the screening of, ‘Sweet Virginia,’ in Tribeca, NYC, ‘Adventures in a Public School’- VIFF, Cannes Film Festival, and the award winning Fashion Documentary, ‘Emerging,’ In Seattle. Therés founded her production company, Prowess Productions Inc in December of 2017, where she sealed the film option rights to the drama, fiction novel, ‘BackShadow.’ She is currently developing this project from novel- script - screen as well as distributing the award winning fashion documentary, ‘Emerging.’ Last year, Therés Amee was involved in a number of short films that she both acted and produced.She kicked off the year filming ‘Bloom,’ which follows the concept of women empowerment through the re-birth and re-vitalization of women coming together regardless of race and background. Prowess sponsored ‘Bloom’s’ screening at the first ever, Women Illuminated FilmFestivalheld in New York, March 2018.Following ‘Bloom,’ Therés starred in, ‘The Heather Project,’ where she received her first nomination for Best Actress through the Monkey Bread Tree Film Awards. ‘The Heather Project’ also won the award of distinction at the Canadian and International Short Film Festival, was the official selection in Berlin, New Mexico and finished as the semi finalist at the Los Angeles CineFest. Therés was then directed by Alicia Kafka in ‘Living Shame,’ where she plays the role of Megan. ‘Living Shame’is currently scheduled to screen at the Maryland Film Festival on March 29th, 2019. Therés’s passion is telling stories of unique and diverse women. She conceptualized her company to become a platform for women who were silenced for their truths, and shamed for their plights. Her drive is bringing justice, awareness, and change cross culturally and continental. ‘BackShadow,’ will be Therés project of parity, providing recognition to some of the most provocative issues effecting women of the world today.
